About Galtaji Temple of Rajasthan
Galtaji Temple of Rajasthan, is one of a holy pilgrimage place of the Hindus which is located very close to Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh on Jaipur-Agra Highway, which was established by Diwan Rao Kriparam in 18th Century. This temple is dedicated to Sun God and Lord Hanuman or Balaji. It temple is mainly famous for its Fresh Water Springs. It is easy to access Galtaji Temple from the city by local Buses, Cars and Taxis.
The holy pilgrim places of India, Galtaji is 10 kms away from Jaipur in Rajasthan. Being a vast complex of Galta Ji, it has several temples. The natural water springs make the Temple of Galtaji well-known. Saint Galav spent his entire life meditating in this place, so Galtaji is considered to be a holy place. However, a courtier of Sawai Jai Singh II, Diwan Rao Kriparam has built the temple in the 18th Century. The Temple which looks like a mansion or Haveli has outstanding structure. Galtaji Temple provides a beautiful landscape, picturesque view of the city.
Galtaji Temple appears to be an aesthetic sense of the visitors, because of its pink sandstone. Galtaji complex has numbers of temples, pavilions, natural springs and holy 'kunds'. This temple is built on the top of a hill and the most famous temple in which Sun God is worshiped. The temple has rounded roofs, pleasantly carved pillars and painted walls. Being surrounded by hundreds of monkeys, Hanuman temple stands out, out of all other temples. Natural water springs draw special attention of the visitors, besides all other attractions.
Tanks or 'kunds' are being used for the water of these springs. Holiest is the Galta Kund, which never goes dry in all seven tanks. Taking bath in the holy waters of Galtaji is considered to be auspicious. People have a belief of ringing out their sins by taking a dip in this water which makes them come here in an amount of thousands every year and for taking a bath in the holy water of Galtaji Makar Sankranti are regarded as a special day.
