Pushkar Cattle Fair takes place in the month of Kartika beginning on 'Ashtmi' 8th day of Lunar Calendar and continues till full moon ('Poornima') this year it is going to be start from 2-10 November, 2011 at Pushkar which is just about 14 km off Ajmer in the north Indian state of Rajasthan.

Traders who came to Pushkar Cattle Fair for livestock trading sale their camels and cattle during the first half of festival period and during the later half, Devotees perform the religious activities, they take dips in the holy "Sarovar" lake, known to bestow salvation.

You can use one of the following way to reach the Pushkar Fair 2011
Air – The nearest airport is Jaipur from there you can avail the services of the helicopter to the Ghooghra (Ajmer) and Devnagar (Pushkar).

Rail – You can travel by train to Ajmer and from there Pushkar is just 13 kms away.

Road - You can use your own conveyance or use the Rajasthan roadways buses to reach the Pushkar.
