Summer festival is a famous festival of Rajsthan celebrated in the month of May usually at Mount Abu, the only hill station of the state. During this period Mount Abu is the coldest region of the state and the main season for tourist and this festival adds additional value for tourists.

During the British period Mount Abu used to be their favorite destination during summer, they used to come in summer to escape from hot weather, dusts and sweats. Still there are several small cottages of British period. After that a two days summer festival started where tradition and culture of Rajasthan were portrayed. Mount Abu also served as sanatorium for the troops.

Rajasthan folk dances, Rajasthani culture and typical Rajasthani items, handicrafts and textiles are available with good discount during this festival.

There are several other places to visit in Mount Abu which a tourist can visit apart prom enjoying the hill station and enjoying summer festivals, these attractions are Dilwara temple, Gomukh temple, Adhar devi temple, Shri Raghunathji Temple, several view points to view sunrise and sunset, parks and gardens and museum.

How to reach Mount Abu


By air - There is no airport at Mount Abu, Nearest airport is at Udaipur which is about 185 Km away and from there you have to go by road.

By rail - Abu Road is nearest Railway station from Mount Abu. Trains to Abu Road is mostly from Western and Northern Railways. Abu Road is about 2 hours by road distance from Mount Abu.

By Raod - Mount Abu is connected from major places by National Highway No 8 and 14.
