1.Always avoid water from unknown sources. Whenever you are in doubt about the water, ask for mineral water. For precautionary measures you can bring water-purifying tablets along with you

2.Mosquitoes are present in some areas so you need to be cautious because the mosquitoes can cause malaria which is still prevalent. Before your departure for the travel destination you can always get a prescription from your family doctor for some anti malarial drugs.

3.To tackle the mosquitoes you can also bring some insect repellent, mosquito coils or even an electronic repellent though you also need to check the Hotel or resort if they have adequate measures to control mosquitoes

4.If you are a foreigner in India then make sure you do not hit cows while driving because cows are considered very sacred in India.

5.Avoid foods from the open and roadside vendors and also you need to avoid sweets and candies sold open in local markets.

6.Make sure that you wash fruits before consuming them.

7.While traveling always carry sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat.

8.In Rajasthan and other parts of India many historical places and temples have banned photography. Always seek permission before taking any photographs.

9.You should also ensure that you give proper respect to all religious shrines and places of worship. Many religious places require visitors to observe a decent dress code. Always follow that and ensure not to violate any taboos in a mosque or a temple.

10.Do not fall trap to the people offering money exchange. Always Exchange your currency from Government approved money changers like Thomas Cook Exchange Bureaus or official moneychangers. Always retain the Currency Exchange receipts after each transaction. You will need them for re-exchange on departure.

11.You need to remember that in India Photography is prohibited in places of military importance, railway stations, bridges, airports and military installations
