He became Chief Minister of Rajasthan three time in first time 22 June 1977 to 16 February 1980, 2nd time in 4 March 1990 to 15 December 1992 and 3rd time in 4 December 1993 to 29 November 1998. He became Vice-President of India in 19 August 2002 to 21 July 2007
