Teej Festival Rajasthan
Teej Festival in Rajasthan Held during the monsoons,mostly during the month of July. Teej Festival in Rajasthan is also dedicated to Lord Shiva and Parvati. During the Teej Festival Rajasthan married women from all parts of the state pray for a happy and long married life.
Teej Festival celebrations are held all over the Rajasthan state. However in the capital city of Jaipur the celebrations are huge and colourful processions are carried out in the city. The old city of Jaipur sees number of vibrant processions for two days. Teej Festival here is celebrated as a festival of swings. Numerous Swings can be seen in the city decorated with flowers and hung from trees.
During Teej Festival young girls and women dressed in vibrant green clothes sing Rajasthani and folk songs in celebration of the arrival of the monsoon. The Teej idol during Teej Festival is covered with a canopy whereas the Gangaur idol is open.
