Sohan Halwa is a unique sweet dish, a specialty of Ajmer. Apart from Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti and Pushkar Ajmer is also identified with Sohan Halwa. While in Ajmer the delicious taste of Sohan Halwa is not to be missed. It is available in various delicacies and varieties.

Though we can prepare Sohan Halwa at our home but the special taste of Sohan Halwa of Ajmer is available only in Ajmer

How to Make Sohan Halwa – Recipe of Sohan Halwa

Ingredients Required to Preparae Sohan Halwa

kg Corn flour, 1 kg Sugar, 1 kg Ghee, 1 Cup milk, 100 gms Almonds, 100 gms Pistachios, 1 tsp Saffron

First of all Mix corn flour in 1 cup of water and the allow it to dissolve properly. Then dissolve saffron in water properly and mix 3 cups of water in sugar and boil for it for few minutes. After that add milk and boil it for another 5 minutes.

After this mix the corn flour and saffron mixture to it. Then cook the mixture on the medium heat. Let the mixture turns little thick, and then start adding oil. Continue to add oil and continue to stir the mixture till the time mixture is separated.

After this add some almonds and pistachios as required. Place the prepared mixture on greased plate and Keep it for cooling for a while. Cut the mixture into square pieces. Delicious Sohan Halva is ready to serve
