Mayo College is basically a school located in Ajmer Rajasthan. There are two wings of Mayo College Ajmer. One is Mayo College Girls School and second Mayo College Boys School.

Mayo College was founded by one of the Viceroys of India Richard Bourke, 6th Earl of Mayo, who was the viceroy from 1869 - 72. The school was started with the aim of providing royal education with British standards to the princes of the then Rajput elites.

Mayo College was founded in the year 1875. The first principal of the school was Col Oliver St John. The first student of Mayo was Maharaja Mangal Singh of Alwar. The interesting fact is that His Highness arrived at Mayo on the back of the elephant accompanied by 300 retainers and a menagerie of tigers, camels and horses.
