    This article gives the information of Historical Places in Rajasthan mainly the famous monuments like palaces, forts, victory pillars and tombs built by great kings of Rajasthan


    The state of Rajasthan was formed in the year of 1947. If we trace the history back into the 4,000 B.C. the North West areas of Rajasthan has its mark on Indus Valley Civilization. Places like Mount Abu, Pushkar and Osian are some proofs for the acceptance of Jainism.

    Rajasthan is a land with great history. Many great leaders, dynasties, and powerful empires have ruled over and controlled different parts of Rajasthan. The powerful empires and dynasties left behind their rulung memory in the form of great monuments and forts and buildings in different state of Rajasthan, India.

    If you see the history of Rajasthan it is really fascinating. The great monuments like palaces, forts, victory pillars and tombs of the great kings denote the glorious stories of Rajasthan state.

    Historical Places in Rajasthan - Taragarh Fort
    Taragarh Fort is situated in Bundi 39 km northwest of Kota. At the time heydays of Rajputs it was the capital of most princely state. This fort was built in the year 1354. The fort is easily accessible by a road in the way of hillside to its gateway, topped by rampant elephants. It is having a big reservoirs formed of solid rock and the Bhim Burj, the largest of the battlements, on which is mounted a famous cannon. Another main tourist attraction is a birdeye of the town.

    Historical Places in Rajasthan:Junagadh Fort
    The famous Junagadh Fort fort is located in Bikaner. It is one of the popular finest monumentof Rajput. It is having 37 palaces, pavilions and temples built by different Kings at different periods, building forts and monuments are not a matter of simple so the kings did necessary productive measures to save this from damages by building massive ramparts and round towers.

    Historical Places in Rajasthan:Chittorgarh Fort
    Chittorgarh Fort built in 280-hectare at a top of high hill about 180 meter above, Inside this fort the Rana Kumbha Palace, Chittorgarh epitomizes, Fateh Prakash Palace, Tower of Victory and Padmini's Palace are the main attraction of the tourists.

    Historical Places in Rajasthan:Amber Fort
    It is situated at the distance of 11 km from Jaipur city. It was old capital of Jaipur State. Raja Man Singh built this fort in 1592. After several years some parts of this fort was reconstructed and extended by the Jai Singhs before they come to Jaipur. This fort is an live example of Rajput architecture.

    Historical Places in Rajasthan: Mehrangarh Fort
    The famous Mehrangarh Fort is located in Jodhpur, built by Rao Jodha in the year 1459. It is situated about 400-ft above the city, the width is 68feet, height of the fort walls are 117 feet. Rao Jodha Singh built his palaces within this fort. Now the palaces changed as Mehrangarh museum.
    The Moti Mahal is another historically important place made up of beautiful stained glass windows, it forms a colorful mosaic image when the light runs through it and shade. Chandan Mahal, Darbar Takhat or Throne Room, Rang Mahal and Umaid Vilas are must see for tourists.

    Historical Places in Rajasthan: Golden fort or Sonar Kila
    It is located in Trikuta hil, Jaisalmer. Bhatti Chief Jaisal formed the foundation of the fort in the year 1156 A.D This fort was formed of yellow sandstone gives the appearance of golden flame when scorched by the desert sun. Hence it is called Sonar Kila or Golden Fort.
    The famous Jain temples was constructed in 12th to 15th centuries and dedicated to Rikhabdevji and Sambhavanthji.
    Chandan Mahal, Darbar Takhat, Rang Mahal and Umaid Vilas are other historical places in Rajasthan.
