Hanumangarh District - Land of Plenty

Hanumangarh is Popularly known as the Land of Plenty which is the 31st district of Rajasthan. It was made as district on 12 of July, 1994. Population of this state is 1,517,390.

Location - Hanumangarh is the northern most district of Rajasthan. Total area is 9656.09 sq km; the district is surrounded by Churu in south, Sri Ganganagar in west, Punjab and Haryana in north and east respectively. The geographical coordinates of the district are 29° 5' to 30° 6' North latitude and 74° 3' to 75º 3' east Longitude.

Language - Bagri is spoken by majority of population. Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu are some other languages spoken here.

Economy of Hanumangarh District- Agriculture is the main economy of Hanumangarh District. Crops like pearl millet, rice, bajra, cotton, sonamukhi,wheat and vegetables are grown over here. There are almost forty authorized small scale industries in Hanumangarh District, which plays very important role in enhancing the economy.

Tourist places in Hanumangarh District- Bhatner Fort, Kalibangan( Pilibanga), Bhadrakali Mata Temple, Amarpura Thedi Village , Gurudwara Shree Kabootar Sahib, Nohar , Pallu and Brahmani Temple.

Festivals in Hanumangarh District- Jod Mela and Mata Brahmani Mela are two of the main religious festivals of Hanumangarh District.
