Education in Rajasthan - A complete information

Once upon a time when Rajasthan state is known for poor education & the illiterate people. Now education scene of the Rajasthan is changing frequently. It is the result of support of the Government of Rajasthan.

They are taking initiative steps in educational programs. They implement number of services, policies & so on. For providing enrollment of students in school, Aware them by various educational schemes, by telling them the benefit of education in making life reputated & as well as the role of education in developing a state.

They promote education as much as they can. In last ten years literacy rate change rapidly. The literacy rate grew from 38% in 1991 to over 65% in 2008. In the upcoming few year state aims to be attain remarkable percentage of literacy rate.

For this government impose many rules like they give free education to girls till 8th standard, They provide free food in government schools in the lunch time, They provide cycles to girls absolutely free. They give so many facilities especially to girls students. The only reason behind it is to promote girl’s child education.

At present there are ten universities in the Rajasthan, more than three hundred colleges for different courses, six thousand primary schools & almost eight hundred and three hundred secondary schools. There is a university named with the state that is Rajasthan University. It’s result is usually comes in November’s & December’s months.

The state has almost sixty engineering colleges with an annual enrollment of about 24,000 students. There are twenty-three polytechnics and one hundred and fifty-two Industrial Training Institute (ITIs) that impart vocational training to the students.

Rajasthan Technical University in Kota is engaged in imparting technical education and arranges for the Rajasthan Pre Entrance Test (RPET) for Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy known RPETEAP.

Laxmi Narayan Mittal recently set up the LNM Indian institute of information technology at jaipur. This is belonging to the Ispat International Group. This institute provides technical education in the fields of information technology (IT), electronics & in communication.

There are eight medical colleges in the state –two of them are in private sector while other six are in public sector with an annual intake of seven hundred students. Medical education in private sector is opened in rajasthan by government in 1996-97.

There are eight Dental Colleges in the state with about an intake of 740 students. Apart from these there are twenty-eight pharmacy institutes where 1,600 students get enrolled annually.

Rajasthan also has 26 Management Institutes with about 1,460 seats.

Finally now we can say that in coming few years Rajasthan state will be one of the superior state in the field of education as compare to other states.
