Mobile Revolution
We are living in the 21st century. Today’s man is using a lot of facilities. What our grandparents could have seen in their dreams has come true today. When radio was invented by Macroni, our forefathers used to say that a radio will come in which people could be seen also. Yes, you got it right- it is called T.V. today. It was a dream for them but it is a basic necessity today.
Inventions cast a great impact on our life and one of these inventions is mobile (cell phone). It did not leave anybody’s life untouched, whether a millionaire or a middle class man or a rickshaw puller. We can see everybody sticking to this small magic box.
For Indian farmers it has come like a boon. Prior to mobile revolution, farmers were totally dependent on rain sun and God for their crops. But mobile’s entry into their life has reduced their dependability to a large extent now. He can get to know of the right sowing time, weather forecast, fertilizers’ availability, market rate etc. by dialing a particular no. which costs him 1 re. per minute. Moreover, this information is available in 20 different languages. This way he has got freedom from mediators. After harvesting, farmer used to go to the market to sell his crops. But on reaching there he had to sell it at less price if there was no or less demand. But now he keeps himself updated about the about the market price through the mobile contact with the buyers and friends.
In India ,2/3 of the population is occupied in agriculture. So India can not ascend on the path of progress unless the farmers progress. Let’s hope that the living standard of the Indian farmers will improve with the use of upcoming techniques.
