Pratibha Patil - The very first female President of India

Pratibha Patil is the first women who become the president of India. She got birth on Dec 19, 1934 in Nadgaon ,Maharastra. She is hindu.. She belongs to the Congress party.

As far as considered she completed her education in Jalgaon. She studied at R. R. School at jalgaon. She got degree of M.A. from Mooljee Jaitha (M.J.) College, Jalgaon and obtained a law degree from the Government Law College, Mumbai and practised as an advocate in Jalgaon.

She is the current President of republic of India. She is the 12th president but first women who sot the honourable position of president. She took office on jul 25, 2007 succeeding Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.

She is member of Indian National Congress(INC). She was nominated by the United Progressive Alliance and Indian Left. She won the president’s election that is held on July 19, 2007. She won it by defesting her strongest & as well as nearest rival Bhairon Singh Shekhawat by few votes.
