Two Persons from Rajasthan selected for Jeevan Raksha Padak

Two persons from Rajasthan have been selected for Jeevan Raksha Padak by the President of India for showing courage and trying to save others without caring for their own lives. One of them , Zaheen Mateen of Bhilwara, will be awarded this medal posthumously. He had lost his life on November 27th, 2008 while trying to save the lives of the guests at Hotel Taj where he was an assistant chef.

The second awardee is Hina Qureshi from Tonk. The 16 year old girl displayed a high act of bravery when she jumped into a pond to save the lives of 3 girls who were drowning there. Soon villagers came there to help her and no one got injured in the incident.

The award includes medal and certificate along with a DD of Rs. 30,000.
