Footwear Design and Development Institute, Jodhpur : foundation stone laid

Footwear Design and Development Institute will soon begin functioning in Jodhpur. On 30th April, the foundation stone for the institute was laid on Naguar road in Mandore area by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Central Industries and Commerce Minister Anand Sharma. The institute will be cnstructed on 15 acre land and is going to be the 7th FDDI after Noida, Raebareli, Chennai, Kolkata, Rohtak and Chhindwara campuses.
The cost to set up the institute will be around 100 crores which will be provided by central govt. The campus will also house a testing lab of international level and 2 hostels for girls and boys with a capacity of 500 each.
2 courses will be run in the institute. The institute aims at providing education related to designing of shoes and leather products, testing and management & retail related to it.
