Malaviya National Institute of Technology is a prominent govt. engineering institution of Rajasthan. It is situated in Jaipur. The engineering college was previously known as Malviya regional Engineering College (MREC) and was established in the year 1963. It was upgraded a National Institute of Technology in the year 2002. It is a deemed university and governed by the NIT council under the Ministry of HRD.

Admission criteria in Malaviya National Institute of Technology
Admission to B.Tech is given on the basis of merit in AIEEE exams. Separate merit is drawn for each category viz. genral, SC, ST and OBC-NC.
Admission to M. Tech is given on the basis of GATE scorecard plus interview. Candidates of general category/OBC seeking admission to the postgraduate programmes must have at least 60% marks or CGPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale at the qualifying degree level i.e. B.E. /B. Tech
Admission to M.Sc. is also given on the basis of GATE scorecard plus interview/merit. Candidates of general category/OBC seeking admission to the postgraduate programmes must have at least 60% marks or CGPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale at the qualifying degree level i.e. B.Sc.
MNIT conducts its own exam for the admission in MBA programme. This test is generally conducted during May/june. Admission is given on the basis of merit plus GD/interview.
